Sony Ericsson
Android Phone
The Sony Ericsson Android Phone first leaked in April 2009 and
was said to use technology from their Cyber-Shot cameras. In September
said they were working on an Android Phone code named "Rachel".
This Sony Ericsson prototype was also given the name Xperia X3.
Some of the features of this prototype were a 4 inch touchscreen
with 800x400 resolution, 1 GHz Quallcom processor, GPS system
and an 8 megapixel camera with led flash.
The next leakage to occur from Sony Ericsson was that the SE
Xperia X3 would run on the Android 2.0 OS and be released in January
2010, just after the Christmas sales. But having an X3 would conflict
with Nokia that also has trademark rights, so it was unlikely
the cell phone would keep this name.
In early November, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10a Android Phone
was announced. The Xperia X10a has an 8.1 mp camera with flash
(presumable with Cyber-shot technology), a 1 GHz processor, a
virtual keyboard and a 4-inch screen.
In the middle of November 2009, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
(dropping the "a" at the end was announced. This cell
phone will miss the holidays and is supposed to launch in February
2010.
