LG Android Phone
In February 2009 the LG Android Phone was first announced. It
was supposed to be the same as the LG KS360 except it was using
the Android Phone OS. Then there was a quiet period until September.
In early September the LG Mobile GW880 Android Phone was announced
in China. Then a week later the LG Etna Android Phone was announced
for the U. S. market. Vodaphone introduced the LG Etna as having
a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3-inch touch-screen and a 5
mp camera.
The plan was also to release the LG Etna in Europe as well. But
the LG Etna was not the official name and the company went on
to announce their first official Android Phone the LG GW620. The
company repackaged the same cell phone for Canada calling it the
LG Eve (probably the result of a few focus groups).
The LG GW880 OPhone is the company's second official Android
Phone. The announcement was made in late November 2009 and as
of this writing it is only available in China. The screen is a
little larger than the Eve at 3.5 inches instead of 3 inches.
